Called me on my mobile. The connection was bad and a man with a Phillipino accent introduced himself and said he was calling on behalf of the Brisbane City Council and was doing a survey on the quality of life in Queensland. He proceeded to ask me the questions, the first one being about my age range. I asked if I had to do it and he hung up immediately. I avoid doing surveys because the questions seem to be phishing for information they can use to scam people.
Scam. They called today and I ignored it, then they left a voicemail with background noise. Blocked!
When I answered this call, there was no communication on the other end, just the sound of a rooster crowing in the background. I advise against answering this number.
I answered a call and said 'hello', but there was a noticeable pause, accompanied by background sounds typical of a call center. The caller eventually said 'hello' before hanging up, which seemed very suspicious.
The caller claimed to be from my "local city council" conducting a survey. They asked specific questions like my age range (20 to 55), relationship status (married/single/defacto), and if I was a homeowner or had a mortgage. When I mentioned being a renter, they abruptly hung up.

Had a call from this number claiming to be conducting a cost of living survey from Moorabbin City Council. I told her I don't live anywhere near Moorabbin. Apparently that didn't matter. Started asking general questions like age bracket, marital status. I ended the call there advising them that this was undoubtedly a scam call. Can't say for a fact that it is but what else could it be.
