If you receive a call from this number, I strongly recommend blocking it to avoid any potential issues.
Scam call saying that they were commonwealth bank and someone was attempting to transfer $1800 out of my account. When prompted to press 1 for No or 2 for Yes, a "customer service specialist" attempted to get me to open my CBA app to prevent the transfer from happening. When I told him I wasn't comfortable doing that and I would just go into a branch, he got frustrated and aggressive in his insistence that I do it over the phone. The last straw was when he couldn't even tell me my own name, yet apparently had access to the transactions of my account? I don't think so!
I received another call from the same number, with no message left. I assume this is a scam based on its nature.
After answering multiple times, I heard a male voice with a foreign accent. I couldn't understand what he was saying, even when I asked him to repeat himself. The background noise indicated it might be a call center, so I suspected it was a scam and hung up.
I received a voicemail stating that my details were incomplete and that my phone service would be disconnected in two hours. They instructed me to press 1 for English and 2 for Chinese, but the message came through my voicemail and was flagged as spam by my phone. Even though it was marked as spam, I listened out of curiosity because messages like that are uncommon.
