Pivotel Satellite Solar Rebate Impersonation Reports for 0488 835 864
One contributor has flagged 0488 835 864 (also written as 0488835864) for suspicious activity linked to Pivotel Satellite. The caller uses legitimate-sounding branding - the Pivotel Satellite website appears professional as a service provider - but the contributor reports receiving multiple calls from various mobile numbers associated with the organisation, all following an identical scripted pattern centred on solar rebate schemes.
The tactic involves impersonation of a legitimate solar rebate service. What distinguishes this from straightforward telemarketing is the false compliance with removal requests. The contributor has been told more than three times that they would be removed from the calling list, yet calls have continued within recent months. This pattern of broken opt-out promises is a red flag for coordinated deceptive calling activity.
What Callers from 0488 835 864 Say
The contributor reports the call follows a consistent script. After initial pleasantries, the caller says: "You may have spoken to one of my colleagues a few weeks ago about solar." This opening line has been used in more than three separate calls from 0488835864, suggesting a pre-prepared pitch designed to create false familiarity and bypass initial resistance.
When the contributor explained they live in an apartment and cannot install solar panels, the caller responded with: "Sorry sir, I will remove you from our calling list. You will not receiving any more calls from our organisation" - or something nearly identical. The contributor reports hearing this exact statement or close variations more than three times, yet the calls have persisted in recent months from different numbers. This cycle of empty removal promises followed by renewed contact attempts is characteristic of aggressive sales operations that do not honour opt-out requests.
Repeated Calls Despite Opt-Out Requests
The defining pattern with 0488 835 864 is the refusal to honour removal requests. The contributor has explicitly told callers multiple times to stop calling, and each time has received assurance that they would be removed from the list. Yet more than three separate calls have arrived in recent months.
The use of multiple mobile numbers linked to Pivotel Satellite suggests a deliberate strategy to evade blocking. When one number gets blocked, calls resume from a different number. This coordinated rotation of numbers, combined with the identical scripted approach, indicates the calls are part of an organised campaign rather than random telemarketing.
What to Do If You Receive a Call from 0488 835 864
If 0488 835 864 calls you:
- Do not: Engage with questions about solar rebates, provide personal details, or assume the caller represents a legitimate government rebate scheme
- Do: Hang up immediately, block the number and any similar numbers, and do not trust verbal promises of removal - these appear to be false
- Do: Check the official website of Pivotel Satellite independently (do not use a number provided by the caller) if you need to verify legitimacy
- Do: Remember that legitimate solar rebate information comes from government sources, not unsolicited callers claiming to represent schemes

What Our Users Reviewed
The number is tagged or linked to Pivotel Satellite - the website looks legit as a service provide BUT I have received numerous calls from various mobile numbers provided by Pivotel Satellite, in the past, dealing with some alleged solar rebate scheme etc. Take note that if you ever answer one of these calls, that it sounds like from a script e.g. After all the nice greetings, they will say things like "you may have spoken to one of my colleagues a few weeks ago about solar"... More than 3x I have heard this line.... Then when you tell them e.g. I live in apartment and cannot simply install solar panels, they will reply something like "sorry sir. I will remove you from our calling list. You will not receive any more calls from our organisation". Also more than 3 x I have heard this line or something nearly identical and guess what - more than 3 x in the last few months I have received such calls.... Suspicious and I would say scam.

WRITE A REVIEWFrequently Asked Questions
I just received a call from 0488 835 864 mentioning a solar rebate. Is this legitimate?
No. The contributor who reported 0488 835 864 (0488835864) indicates the caller uses a scripted pitch about solar rebates but does not represent a genuine government scheme. Legitimate solar rebate information comes from official government sources, not unsolicited callers. The pattern of repeated calls to this number from different numbers, despite opt-out requests, confirms it is not a legitimate service. Hang up and block 0488 835 864.
Why does 0488 835 864 keep calling even after I asked to be removed?
The contributor reported being told multiple times that they would be removed from the calling list, but calls from 0488835864 continued for months. This pattern of false removal promises is deliberate - it allows the caller to end each conversation without argument while ensuring they resume contact later. The use of multiple mobile numbers associated with Pivotel Satellite suggests calls are rotated to evade blocking. Do not trust verbal promises of removal from this number.
The caller from 0488 835 864 said they had spoken to my colleagues about solar. How did they know that?
The contributor reported this as a standard scripted opening used by 0488835864 - the caller said "You may have spoken to one of my colleagues a few weeks ago about solar" in more than three separate calls. This is a social engineering tactic designed to create false familiarity and lower your guard. The caller does not know this information about you; it is part of their script. Do not assume they have legitimate knowledge of your situation.
Is 0488 835 864 actually connected to Pivotel Satellite?
The contributor reports that 0488 835 864 (0488835864) is tagged to Pivotel Satellite, and the Pivotel Satellite website appears legitimate as a service provider. However, multiple mobile numbers associated with Pivotel Satellite have been used to make these scripted solar rebate calls. This suggests either Pivotel is involved in the calling campaign, or the caller is using Pivotel branding to exploit trust in the company name. Either way, unsolicited scripted calls about solar rebates are not legitimate.
I blocked 0488 835 864 but got a call from a different number about solar. Is it the same caller?
Possibly. The contributor reported receiving calls from 0488835864 and noted they received calls from 'various mobile numbers provided by Pivotel Satellite' using the same script and false removal promises. If a different number calls with an identical solar rebate pitch, it is likely the same organised calling operation rotating numbers to bypass blocks. Block all such numbers and report them to ACMA and Scamwatch.
What should I do if I have already given information to 0488 835 864?
If you shared personal details with 0488 835 864 (0488835864), monitor your accounts for suspicious activity. The contributor's reports suggest this is an organised deceptive operation, not a legitimate service. If you provided financial or identity information, consider contacting your bank and running a credit check. Report the call to ACMA (acma.gov.au) and Scamwatch (scamwatch.gov.au) to alert authorities about the deceptive practices of 0488835864.
