    Keep calling.. Always silence on the other end when they leave a message. I return the call and no answer.

    I am on the do not call register but it doesn't block this number.

    I have called my phone provider and they stated I need to make a register of these calls, time, date, how many etc etc and call them back once a week with the registered details. They then stated if the nuisance calls fall into a specific criteria, then they will send a letter to them advising them to stop calling my number.

    It's debt collectors. Just block the number. If You do answer to them inadvertently, never give (confirm) your name, DOB or address. They cannot proceed with the call without positively identifying you due to privacy laws. The best thing to say is 'Sorry, I don't know who you are, you could be anyone calling and I don't give out personal information over the phone.' They will them tell you to Google them to variety their identity. Just say ok and hang up. Or if you're as fed up with them as I am, just tell them to f*k off as soon as they say who they are. Works quite well.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
