I received a call mentioning a "CommBank security alert" stating that my card ending in 9999 is temporarily blocked. They had my correct name, mobile number, and the last four digits of my card. The message referenced a $30 payment to "Belong Melbourne," which is not my service provider. Currently, there are no unauthorized transactions on my account. I believe this call could be a phishing attempt possibly due to a leak of personal information from Telstra.

I can confirm this number is a spam caller as it is part of a phishing scam. After receiving a call from them, I realized my bank card had already been compromised. I had 16 unauthorized transactions! I immediately blocked my card and reported the incident to my bank, which is now investigating the situation.

It’s interesting that there are both positive & negative comments about this telephone number.

In my instance, I got an SMS stating they’re CommBank Security & that my card had been temporarily blocked after a payment to a suspicious vender & to reply Yes or No to whether I made this payment.

I would never reply to an SMS such as this, but I did check my transaction via internet banking & unfortunately the fraudulent transaction was there. I looked up the contact details for the bank & rang them about this – card has been cancelled & a form to dispute the fraudulent transaction submitted.

While this SMS appears legitimate, it is very poorly worded & should NEVER ask you to reply to an SMS.

My advice is to independently check your transactions & contact the bank via known telephone numbers – don’t reply to an SMS no matter how legitimate it may appear.

I received a call from this number, which is suspicious because it claimed I was trying to make a purchase at Bunnings at 4:58 AM, a time when I definitely wouldn’t be using my account.

If you receive a text message from this number, DO NOT REPLY! It’s a scam and has absolutely nothing to do with Commonwealth Bank (CommBank). Some users have mistakenly stated it was from them; be aware that these may be comments from scammers trying to mislead people. Stay cautious!

I have received two identical messages with the same content. It seems that these scammers are still operating!

I received a suspicious text asking if I used my card at an interstate location. The Commonwealth Bank's official website clearly states that they never send SMS messages to verify identity. I'm concerned that scammers could be sophisticated enough to access information in the banking system. What should I do?

To verify, I contacted CBA through the official customer service number found on their website, and they confirmed the message's authenticity. Received an sms saying it was Commbank, asking if I had authorized a transaction from "account ending in ****) in usa for $1400 odd and to press yes or no to confirm. I did not touch it. There are no messages "inside" my bank account. I guess its a scam.
