A man I believe was from India contacted me claiming that someone had made an unauthorized purchase on Amazon using my personal details. He persuaded me to download an app called Zoho Assist. I pretended to cooperate for about 15 minutes to waste his time before informing him that I was well aware it was a scam and would be reporting him to the police.
I received a call claiming that $29.99 would be deducted from my Amazon account, which I do not have. They instructed me to press 1 for more information, but I hung up instead.
