Understanding the Suspicious Activity Behind 0483 954 712

The phone number 0483 954 712 has recently come under scrutiny, with reports from users categorising it as a suspicious automated scam call. This analysis is based on user feedback, particularly a recent review from 21/11/2023, where the recipient received a concerning automated message.

In this report, the automated call indicated that the recipient needed to authorise a transaction of AUD 1399.00 on their credit card. Importantly, the call originated from a mobile number rather than the official contact line associated with a legitimate credit card company. This raises flags, as reputable companies generally do not reach out from mobile numbers, nor do they initiate calls of this nature without proper identification.

Received an automated message stating that I need to authorise a AUD:1399.00 internet shopping transaction on my credit card. As I didn't recognise the number as a landline I terminated the call. Reverse AU states the number is a mobile therefore this suggests a scam. Credit card companies will not call you on a mobile, they will also state who they are. If you are still unsure you should note the number and then call your credit card company directly using the contact details on your statements.
