I received a call where the person spoke a lot of Chinese and it felt like a prank. The background noise suggested they were with friends. It was childish, and I felt uncomfortable as I don’t know how they obtained my number. I also could not return the call.
It is frustrating that, with today's advanced technology, scammers are still able to call my number. I wonder if this is because I'm using an Apple phone and if they do not have adequate protections for their customers against such calls.
The caller began speaking Chinese and repeatedly asked "Hello, who is this?" but then remained silent. This behavior is suspicious.
I was contacted by someone claiming to be from an Indian call center, informing me that I supposedly had a $250 credit to use on electricity with an unspecified provider. The call went on for about two minutes before the caller went mute and asked if I was still there, which felt very unprofessional and dubious.
I received a call from a commission salesman who was trying to convince me to switch energy providers. The call center is based in India, and they were using an Australian mobile number to make the call.
I received a call from an energy provider who was trying to deceive me into switching my service to their company. They seemed more interested in obtaining my personal details, as they did not even know my name or address when they called, raising my suspicions about their legitimacy.
I keep receiving calls from this nuisance caller who refuses to leave any messages.
It’s a scammer.
They use this number to detect if your mobile number is operational. If your mobile number is operation then it will get targeted from land lines a bit later. They use landline for the actual targeting calls because who is going to believe Amazon or whoever it is or your bank is going to be calling you from my mobile. They use a mobile number at this stage because If you have multiple calls from landline numbers, you get suspicious of landline. Af you don’t pick up one of those landline calls then you’ll get a call from a different state STD area code. The two states they are using, Victoria and New South Wales are spoofing these area codes figuring that if you don’t pick up Victoria, you could be in New South Wales, obviously where most of the people in Australia are split between those two states.
I received a missed phone call from 0480 005 097 and they did not leave a message. If it was a legitimate phone call they would have left a message.
