In a digital age where phone scams are prevalent, it is crucial to be vigilant against dubious numbers. One such number is 0478 155 752, which users have reported as a suspicious caller impersonating police personnel asking for money. This article delves into the nature of calls made from this number and how to manage unsolicited interactions.
The Nature of Reports
Users have shared alarming experiences that reveal a common theme: a rude telemarketer requesting financial contributions tied to advertising in police-associated magazines. Many reports display frustration and concern over the caller's approach.
- High-pressure tactics: Callers, assumed to be named Andrew or Robert, ask personal questions about the recipient's business before pivoting to financial requests. This raises a red flag as legitimate police departments do not solicit funds in this manner.
- Rude behaviour: The reports consistently indicate that these callers exhibit unprofessionalism, becoming abrasive when their offers are declined. In one instance, a user reported that the caller even threatened to make a note regarding their perceived rude attitude, which underscores the manipulate nature of the interaction.
- Impersonation of authority: Claiming ties to the Queensland Police or police associations, these callers mislead individuals into thinking they represent legitimate organisations. However, users have stressed that this is not standard practice for police communications.

I received a call regarding business advertising, and when I expressed my disinterest, the caller reacted rudely and arrogantly. They even stated that they would make a note next to my name for the police.
The caller claimed to be from the NSW Police Association seeking sponsorship for a magazine. However, as soon as I expressed my disinterest, they hung up immediately, which raises suspicions about their legitimacy.
My husband received a call an hour ago, and a person named Andrew asking him how my husband’s business is going, and asked for $400 to give an advertisement in the police magazines. My husband said he is busy, and will talk later. But we recognised police never call lol..
Claims to be from police association - asks how your business is going, then proceeds to ask if your interested in a project they have going, when you decline as your to busy, he gets all salty and rude.
Just ignore or hang up.
I get the same calls from the ambulance and firefighters association. Just rude wankers.
