What Users Are Reporting
Customer feedback suggests a troubling pattern: callers often claim to represent Amazon, informing recipients that their account is overdue or has recent suspicious activities. Others have reported pre-recorded messages demanding urgent action to prevent their accounts from being charged or locked. Review comments reveal:
- Threats of immediate account renewal charges for services that victims do not use, such as Amazon Prime.
- Claims of unauthorized purchases from Visa or eBay, instructing victims to "press 1" to confirm or cancel; however, many of the callers speak in a different language or utilize a heavy background noise indicative of offshore call centres.
- Direct requests for sensitive information, including credit card details or software installations under false pretenses.
