ANZ bank class action to make a claim I am not a ANZ customer most on here getting this scam.
I've had emails and texts from this number allegedly from law firm Phi Finney McDonald asking me to register for a class action against ANZ. A link is given. I thought it was a scam so didn't respond. I couldn't find any authoritative source who said it was a scam, and news sources did report Phi Finney McDonald was handling this class action. So I clicked the link. My antivirus wouldn't connect to the page saying it was a malicious web page. My phone put a text message from them straight into my spam box and blocked the number. So I still don't know whether it's a scam. It's not a listed scam on the ACCC's Scamwatch.
WARNING: This was not an actual phone call but a message sent to my phone inviting me to take part in a class action against ANZ bank. They claimed ANZ gave them my details and asked me to click a link to input my Date of Birth. You could only log in once. This is a MAJOR SCAM! I advise not to engage and I have blocked the number.

I actually received a cheque last week from a bank (that was taken over by another bank years ago) by normal snail mail with an attached letter saying I received a refund due to being charged way too much interest on credit card repayments, again from years ago.
Did I have a credit card with that bank? Yes.
Did I bank the cheque & did it clear?
