Frequently Asked Questions

Is 04 5522 7909 a real debt collector or legitimate contact?

No. Community reports from 0455227909 show the caller claims to represent drug dealers or criminals, not legitimate organisations. Real debt collectors are required to identify their company, explain what debt is alleged, and provide written notice. Threatening calls that refuse to clarify specifics are scams. Block 04 5522 7909 immediately.

Why does the caller from 0455227909 refuse to say what I allegedly did wrong?

The vagueness is intentional. By not specifying what "job" or alleged wrongdoing they refer to, the caller forces you to imagine scenarios and feel anxious. This confusion and fear is the scam's leverage. Real organisations always state specifically what they are contacting you about. If 04 5522 7909 calls, the deliberate lack of clarity proves it is a scam.

What should I do if I feel genuinely threatened by calls from 04 5522 7909?

Your safety is the priority. Contact Australian Federal Police on 131 237 or call 000 if you feel in immediate danger. Report the number 0455227909 to AFP online at afp.gov.au. Keep records of all calls from 04 5522 7909 (dates, times, what was said) and provide them to police. Block the number on your phone and consider changing your phone number if calls continue.

Can threatening calls like those from 0455227909 be traced and prosecuted?

Yes. Law enforcement uses phone records and telecommunications data to trace threatening calls. Reports from multiple contributors help police establish patterns. The more people who report 04 5522 7909 to AFP and ACMA, the stronger the case for prosecution. Your report matters and contributes to stopping this scammer.

Why does 04 5522 7909 keep calling back if I've reported it to police?

Scammers often continue calling because they are working through contact lists and may not realise individual numbers have been reported. They rely on victims being too intimidated to take action. Block 0455227909 on your phone to prevent further calls. Each time it calls, log the date and time. Continue reporting to police - this demonstrates a pattern of harassment.

Is the Telstra mobile number 0455227909 definitely the scammer's real number?

The number 04 5522 7909 is registered to Telstra, but scammers can spoof or use stolen/compromised mobile accounts. Whether this is the scammer's actual number or a borrowed/spoofed line, the threat and impersonation are criminal offences. Report 0455227909 to Telstra at 1800 211 031 so they can investigate if the account has been compromised.
