What the Scam Entails
Users have reported receiving text messages from this number claiming they have unpaid toll fees. The messages appear to be official but fall short upon inspection. Many recipients noted that they do not even own a car or a driver's licence, raising immediate red flags. The texts suggest urgent action is required to resolve claimed outstanding fees, which is a common strategy used in phishing scams.
Indications of a Scam
- Unsolicited Messages: The initial trigger for suspicion was that individuals who received the messages had no prior connection with Linkt.
- Link Verification: Recipients attempting to verify the claims by checking their official Linkt accounts found zero dues. The contradictions made the legitimacy of the messages questionable.
- Inconsistent Messaging: Users noted that the text messages contained varied formatting, phrasing, and punctuation, unlike official communication from established organisations.

What Our Users Reviewed
Received a text reporting to be from Linkt, claims that I have an overdue toll. My actual Linkt account, however, says that no toll is owing.
Judging by the above, definitely a scam number.
Scam text message for unpaid tolls from linkt.
Received a text message from this number claiming I have an unpaid toll fee. I do not even have a licence, much less own a car for this to be applicable to me. I have received similar texts from two other mobile numbers, all claiming I have unpaid toll fees to be paid to linkt but all websites linked are not the official Linkt site, nor do they include any further details beyond that. The format, phrasing & punction of each text are also quite varied & do not coincide with real messages you would expect from an official organisation.
