The common theme among these reports is the impersonation of representatives from the National Broadband Network (NBN) attempting to manipulate unsuspecting individuals.

Caller Description

The reviews report an Indian caller claiming to be from the NBN, who offers to help with service upgrades. The tactics employed often include leading the recipient through a seemingly innocent internet speed test, followed by requests for personal information. Most alarmingly, users report being asked to input a command code, a clear indication of a potential scam designed to compromise your device or data.

Why is 0450 912 955 / 0450912955 Classified as a Scam?

  • Red Flags: The two-step approach of transitioning from a regular caller to a supervisor often raises flags, especially when both individuals have foreign accents and exhibit scripted responses.

How to Handle Calls from 0450 912 955

Receiving a call from this number can be alarming, but it's important to know how to handle it calmly:

  • Do Not Engage: If you suspect the caller is a scammer, do not provide any personal information. Simply hang up.
  • Verify Independently: If the call raises any concerns, contact the official NBN customer service using a verified number to confirm if they attempted to reach you.
  • Report the Call: You can report scams to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) or visit the Reverseau site for more information on how to handle suspicious calls.
