In recent months, several Australians have reported receiving calls from the number 0432 342 841. The general consensus among users points to this being a suspicious number, likely associated with a scam. A notable report shared on 16 February 2021 highlights a recurring call from this number, featuring a recorded message from a foreign-speaking woman purporting to be from Telstra inquiring about a National Broadband Network (NBN) connection.
Given that the individual who reported this call was not a Telstra customer, there are strong indications that this is part of a scam scheme. Calls of this nature typically aim to elicit personal information or, in some cases, trick the recipient into incurring charges. Recorded messages that press you to respond can often be misleading; if it were a genuine call from Telstra, you would expect a more personal touch.
