What Our Users Reviewed
Gumtree scammer: He's pretty good, Wanted ads are his bread and butter, comes across easy going but has no idea about the item your selling will accept whatever amount you say. Wants a phone transfer and asks for details and provides a different number.
He says interstate but puts a dummy item for sale on his 2021 profile close to where you are which was the red flag.
I played the game up until point of sale then just reported him and blocked him.
No doubt he will create a new Gumtree account and start again.
This person contacted me through a Gumtree Wanted ad, saying they had a sewing machine piece I was looking for. They claimed to be from interstate, so would have to mail the part. They requested my address + email, sent me a mobile number to deposit money (no BSB, no way to locate where people are). Before agreeing to send anything, I checked the number + another one they had given me and saw all these reviews. Scam avoided, thank you for your reviews.
