I received a message with an event confirmation that included a code I didn't recognize. At first, I wasn't suspicious since the sender addressed me by my first name, but after checking the number, I started to doubt its legitimacy.
This is a SCAM!! The caller claimed to be from a cybersecurity firm and stated there was an unusual transaction made in California using my CommBank account. When I mentioned that I don’t have an account with CommBank, he ineffectively probed me about which bank I use. I then laughed and hung up.
