I have no idea why the bastards would be calling me; I'm $85 in credit.

Calling and not actually talking after the phone is answered is a bit rude.

G

SCAM, its not a VF. I don't have any VF number.

J

Just had a missed call from this number.. Courteous thing to do would be to leave a voice message so I knew who it was and could call back! So many companies now use automated systems.. Once you answer the call is then directed to Mumbai or some foreign country! Very much over private numbers.

M

Just received a call from this number... A guy with a very strong accent telling me he was from Vodafone and asking me to confirm my name before he would talk to me.

I asked him to confirm he was from VF first before I would release details to him - but he would not provide anything including any contact phone numbers or even the first letter of my surname.

I explained that I wanted to confirm he was who he said he was as I am bombarded on a day to day basis with people says they are from Microsoft, Windows, Telstra, Optus etc when they are all scams. I even asked him for a number I could confirm was VF and then I could call him back.

He got upset with me and snapped something about me refusing to talk to him and then hung up on me.

Surely it would be better if he referred me to the VF website where the number he rang from could have been confirmed (I have checked now - it is there) and then called me back in a 5 minutes or so.

I just had exactly the same experience as some of the other people who've posted here: an extremely rude and aggressive man with a strong Indian accent demanding I give him my credit card details. After 6 minutes of yelling at me, I told him I was hanging up. I then called Vodafone and the person who took my call checked the number and told me it was legitimately from Vodafone's collections department. I told him that if that was the case, their customer service is the worst I've ever received.

E

I called Vodaphone and they do not deal this way. This guy cashing the money for himself.

H

I think it could be from vodafone as how does the person know that we have an overdue account. However, it is not the right way to go about it. The person could be working at Vodafone and placing the money into his own account, not the companies account. I received two calls yesterday, but my account isn't that overdue. I did get a call about six months ago and it was a Indian guy that was very rude and demanding. I told him to get the office to call me and he kept going, so I just hung up on him. Call 1555 (Vodaphone care) They are in Hobart, Australia and are very good. Report the number to them.

It's definitely Vodafone, not a scam they called re an overdue account, I paid then recieved an email from Vodafone confirming my payment!

B

This number is legit - it's definitely Vodafone. They called me when my bill was overdue but I didn't answer, I paid the bill on the website and then a few days later I received a call from the same number saying it was a courtesy call thanking me for paying the overdue bill, they stated the amount I'd paid and said have a nice day. Doesn't sound like a scam to me. Plus you can find this number on the vodafone website.

F

Yeah the same guy rang me said if I don't pay now by credit card they would suspened me I laughed and told him to go ahead and he started to argue so I told him to go and get ducked ha ha ha scam it is.

Like above, guy called me 3 times claiming to be VODAFONE. He told me bill was over due, which it wasn't when I said I would pay it my usual way his attitude changed and he became insistent I pay by credit card on the spot. He only asked me to spell my last name. I told him I didn't believe him and his response was this isn't a scam!!

D

I've had 2 calls I haven't answered today. Thanks for the tip guys!!!

Indian man called me claiming to be from vodafone, asked all the right questions.. Seemed to be very confident. I became suspicious when he became too pushy for me to pay my bill right then. I said I would do it in my usual way- over the internet- and he said " why? You are overdue-pay it now". to which I hung up as it sounded like a scam. That was a few months ago. I have now received a phone call from the same number, in which I googled it and realise that it is a scamming number.

DO NOT PASS ON ANY PRIVATE OR CREDIT CARD DETAILS.

Definitely a scam. Do not give any details to this number.

I used to work for Vodafone and many complained about this number.

Vodafone will never ask for your credit/debit card details unless you have called them or told them you wish to pay for your bill.

Be very careful!

I received a phone call from that number today while I was driving. She asked me to pay overdue bill of voda. I told her I will pay it right after I got home. And she asked me pull over the car and just tell her my credit card details. I did not tell her the details. She even did not ask me my details. If it is scam how does she know I did not pay the phone bill. She knew the amount as well.

G
Gorton

Multiple missed calls... Never leave a message.

My policy is that I have voicemail, so if it is legitimate then they would leave a message!!!!

It's legit vodafone. I've been having issues with my direct debit going through, it's definitely them. Didn't asks for any personal details beyond 'are you sure there are enough funds available', and they are going to follow up further one their end.

Yes got a call from this number supposably from vodafone saying inhave outstanding bills that need to be paid. Never asked security questions to verify my identity. When I asked to have my security questions asked it was just date of birth and my name either aren't hard to find. Then quizzed why they are calling on a mobile number they then hung up. Definatly scam.

Have received missed calls from this number twice this week. Also received earlier this year a few times. They never leave a voicemail so I figured it's not important. Have researched online and found out that many people have received calls from this number claiming to be from Vodafone asking for personal details. When they called up vodafone they said there is nothing wrong with their accounts and not to give details to this number. It is most likely a scam similar to the Telstra scam. Someone please stop these scammers.

B
Birks

I have received this phone call over 10 times. And everytime when I try picked up the call, it will turn to dial the number and making the phone calls from my side.
