    This looks like some dodgy pedo is phishing for minors to groom. If you are under 18.3 to opt out... Yeh sure.

    Actually this isn't a scam but a research group, it still may be annoying but not a scam, see web site: srcentre.com.au/research-participants and no I'm not associated with them in any way, just did some research.

    Same as above, claims to be from the police but is clearly a scam. Delete it immediately!

    I also received a text message from this number stating... This is a message on behalf of the police in your state or territory. The Social Research Centre will call you in the coming days to see if you can take part in an important study on safety and crime in your area. Reply '1' if you are 18+,'2' if you are under 18 or '3' to opt out. Deleted.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
