Should I be concerned about a 5-second call from 0424 926 965?
A single brief call with no message from 0424 926 965 (0424926965) may be accidental or a network issue. However, if 0424 926 965 calls repeatedly without leaving messages, it could be a nuisance caller or callback scam tester. Block the number and monitor for further contact.
What is a callback scam and how does 0424 926 965 relate?
Callback scams work by calling a number briefly (like the 5-second call from 0424926965 reported here), hoping the recipient will return the call out of curiosity. Returning the call to 0424 926 965 could connect you to a premium service that charges fees. Never call back unknown numbers that ring briefly with no message.
Is 0424 926 965 a legitimate Vodafone number?
0424 926 965 (0424926965) is allocated to Vodafone Australia, but allocation does not guarantee legitimacy. Scammers often use legitimate carrier networks or spoof numbers. The brief call with no voicemail from this number fits a nuisance call pattern rather than typical customer service contact.
What should I do if 0424 926 965 calls me multiple times?
If 0424 926 965 (0424926965) calls you repeatedly, block the number in your phone settings and report it to ACMA at acma.gov.au. You can also contribute a report to Reverseau to help other Australians identify this pattern of calls from 0424 926 965.
Can I report this nuisance call from 0424926965?
Yes. Report repeated calls from 0424 926 965 to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (acma.gov.au) or contribute directly to Reverseau. If the caller is from a telemarketing operation, you can also register with the Do Not Call Register at donotcall.gov.au.
Why did the caller from 0424 926 965 hang up so quickly?
The quick disconnect from 0424926965 suggests either accidental dialling, a network issue, or deliberate testing of whether your number is active. Nuisance callers sometimes make brief calls to verify active numbers before targeting them with scams or selling the number to other scammers. Do not return the call.
