What to Do If You Receive a Call from 0424 883 987
If 0424883987 contacts you:
- Do not: Call the number back, as callback scams often use this tactic to generate outbound charges or engage you in conversation
- Do: Let unknown calls go to voicemail, block the number if calls repeat, and check your phone bill for any unusual activity
- Do: Ignore the call entirely if it's silent or brief - do not engage by pressing buttons or attempting callback
Report Patterns
Both reports of 0424 883 987 came through answered calls rather than voicemails, suggesting the caller made contact but chose not to communicate. This behaviour is typical of automated systems or callback scam testing rather than legitimate business contact. The mobile number format and provider (Vodafone Australia) mean the number could be spoofed or reassigned.

What does a silent call from 0424 883 987 mean?
A silent call where the person hangs up immediately, like the one contributor received from 0424883987, usually indicates either a wrong number, an automated system testing if your number is active, or a callback scam attempt. Do not call back, as this can result in unexpected charges or unwanted contact.
Is 0424883987 a legitimate business number?
The Vodafone Australia mobile number 0424 883 987 has received only 2 reports describing silent calls with no message. These patterns do not match legitimate business behaviour, where companies typically leave messages or engage in conversation. Legitimate callers do not hang up silently.
Why do scammers make silent calls from numbers like 0424 883 987?
Silent calls serve multiple purposes for scammers. They test whether your number is actively monitored, probe for callback responses that can trigger charges, or are part of mass autodial campaigns. When 0424883987 hangs up without engagement, it suggests testing rather than genuine communication intent.
Should I call back 0424 883 987 if I miss a call?
No. Do not call back 0424883987 or 0424 883 987. Callback scams rely on recipients returning calls to unfamiliar numbers, which can lead to unexpected charges, premium rate connections, or further contact from scammers. If a caller needs to reach you, they will leave a message.
Can I block 0424 883 987 on my phone?
Yes. Most phones allow you to block numbers directly. If 0424883987 or 0424 883 987 calls repeatedly, add it to your blocked list. You can also report the number to your phone provider (Vodafone Australia in this case) and to ACMA at acma.gov.au.
Where do I report silent calls from 0424883987?
Report silent calls from 0424 883 987 to ACMA at acma.gov.au, which handles nuisance and unwanted calls. You can also register on the Do Not Call Register at donotcall.gov.au. Contributing your report to Reverseau helps other Australians recognise patterns from 0424883987.
