Why This is a Scam
Phishing scams often leverage urgent situations to trick individuals into sharing personal information or clicking on malicious links. They typically try to mimic public services or legitimate businesses to gain your trust. In this case, the perpetrators are masquerading as The Toll Roads, a strategy designed to exploit the public's fear of fines or missing deadlines.
Legitimate companies like toll services will not reach out to clients in this manner. If you receive such messages, it is advisable to ignore them and block the number immediately. Furthermore, do not click any links—doing so may compromise your personal information or compromise your device's security.

I got a text message purportedly from TheTollRoads that included an unknown link. I find it suspicious and wonder why anyone would click on that link, given the possible risks.
