I have advertised certain items on Gumtree and this number has been constantly sending messages and saying that they want an item but never turning up, whenever I call the phone it is off.
This person has now got my address and seems to want to know my whereabouts and what times I will be home and always texts.
I have contacted the Charlestown Police but they say they can do nothing about it.
Disgusting that we should feel watched and unsafe in our own homes!
My first encounter was 6 months ago when a man called me on my home phone about a stripper booking at my house and was under my name (joanne).I denied it and told him none of my information. At the time I was thinking my sons had called the stripper because we were away the weekend before.
A few weeks ago I got a phone call on my home phone of a man wanting to meet up with me. I didn't know him and was very concerned with his persitance and flirtatious responses. Then he led into texting my mobile somehow and demanding to meet up with him.
I've contacted Charlestown police and they have had many reports of the same number with similar stories. Please keep aware.
Guy called at 5:30 in the morning and pretended to be my wife's brother. Said he needed her to pick him up urgently. My wife thought her brother was in trouble so drove in to Adamstown (Newcastle NSW), only to find that it was a set up and this stranger was waiting to get into the car. I suspect it was an attempted robbery or worse. If anyone can help me identify the caller, we may be able to persuade him not to try this again.
