0420 848 157 - Scam Calls from Credit Corp Debt Collectors

So, this number called looking for details of a mate I haven’t seen in over a decade. Claimed I was listed as a friend—total rubbish! Made a complaint with OAIC and AFCA, hope they sort out their dodgy ways and explain how they linked me to some random debt!

Calls and asks to speak to someone else that I know, won't say who they are calling from and how they got my number or what the call is about. They said they found my number by search but my number isn't listed publicly anywhere. Probably emotional/scare scammer. Number may be associated with Credit Corp, but if it was legitimate debt collection surely, they should disclose how they got my number and the company they are calling from if asked.

It seems that Credit Corp is quite persistent! My ex-husband has asked them twice to remove his estranged family's numbers from their call list because he no longer communicates with them, yet they continue to call them. It shows that they don't respect people's wishes at all.

I received a call from a company claiming to be Credit Corp, saying I owe money related to Vodafone from three years ago. I've never had any dealings with Vodafone, only Optus, so I found this confusing and hung up.

The caller identified themselves as Marcel. When I asked for their location, they hesitated and asked me if I was referring to a specific place. I responded "no," and they stated they would call back later.

This number called several times, and on answering was disengaged, last call a lady answerd asking for someone I did not know. Having replied, you have the wrong number I hung up. Same number rang twice more over the next few days, idid not answer and since blocked number. Debt collecter ?

Credit corp debt collecting. Sometimes they call friends and family of people who have debts to get through to them.

My husband received a call from this number today asking to speak to me his wife. We are unsure how and why she would call him if this pertained to another household member. This women said she could not say what the call was about as she could not say where she was calling from from in a friendly nature my husband told her never to call this number again. She was wuick to reply that due to privacy laws I could not devolve were she was calling from. There is no such law. It's simply because we all know how harassing it can be to take these type of calls. We have never paid for anything on credit so we are unsure why a credit debtor would be calling us. We reported it to the respective ombudsman and law reporting agency.

Called my mobile phone, a woman with an Australian accent saying her name is Christy said she wanted to speak to my housemate (I don't know how she got his name).

She told me that she would not disclose where she was from until she spoke to him.

He asked her where she was from and she said so quickly what the call was about (something about debt collecting) that he asked her to repeat it, she would not and said that the discussion cannot go any further until he disclosed his name and date of birth, we told her she is a scammer and promptly hung up, the same number as above, how do they get away with this when the number is displayed is beyond me, I've seen reports of this number from last year.

Received call seeking information regarding family member saying they were wanting to help this family member. They continually refused to say who they were.
