Today 19th December 2016, I put my caravan on Gum Tree for sale. I had a response from a Lennon Lewis asking me similar question as on other peoples comments, asking for my.

BSB account etc and he will be paying me via PayPal.

I googled his name and came up with not good reports so I decided to ignore his txt message and hope thats the end of it. I distinctly put on my advert genuine callers only-No scammers thank you and he still contacted me.

My finace just got the same email..... We have advised that it was no longer for sale and the same email came through.

I got the same message tonight in response to Gumtree ad. First up a text asking me to reply to email which I did without thinking. Next I got offer to buy my trailer from Lennon Lewis (on remote mine site in Darwin)with courier to come pick up on his behalf. I got suspicious and started googling. He had spelt lennon as lenon in his email address. Thanks to everyones messages I didn't take it any further.

I just got the exact same message and email! And then a few hours later for one from "John". Complete scam!

I just got the same guy offering to buy my car (from SA) via CarSales. Here's his sale pitch:

I also got the same thing today same guy same mine darwin stuff..

I have received the same- however he texted me and all that came up was Lenon- no number- how does he do that. Then an email with exactly the same content as described below- work in mines will pay into account or PayPal and will get courier to collect. Sorry I did not read all this before I sent my email address. Hopefully that has not exposed me to any spam threat.

Yer got email too from this guy to buy our boat said he was in Darwin in the mines will send a courier t pick up boat he will pay by pay pal.

This has also just happened to me. Same guy and exactly the same approach. I am in NZ. Does anyone know how providing an email address could assist him in a scam?
