Is 0409 782 679 a real recruitment agency?
Based on the community report, 0409 782 679 (0409782679) appears to be a spam number making unsolicited job opening claims rather than a legitimate recruiter. Genuine recruitment agencies contact candidates who have applied or registered with them. If you receive a call from 0409 782 679 about a job you didn't apply for, it's likely spam.
Should I call back 0409782679 to verify the job offer?
No. Do not return calls to 0409782679 or 0409 782 679. Instead, if you're interested in a company, look up their official phone number on their website or via the Australian Business Register and contact them directly. Calling back spam numbers confirms your number is active and may lead to more spam.
What should I do if 0409 782 679 keeps calling?
If 0409 782 679 calls repeatedly, block the number on your phone and register it with the Do Not Call Register at donotcall.gov.au. You can also report the recurring calls to ACMA at acma.gov.au. Document the dates and times of calls from 0409782679 for your records.
Could 0409 782 679 be spoofed or impersonating a real company?
It's possible. Some scammers spoof legitimate company numbers. If 0409 782 679 claims to represent a specific employer, contact that company directly using details from their official website-not the callback number provided by the caller. Always verify independently rather than trust information from 0409782679.
What personal information should I never share with job callers from unknown numbers?
Never share your full address, date of birth, bank account details, tax file number, driver's licence number, or passport information with unsolicited callers like 0409 782 679. Legitimate employers only request sensitive information after hire, not during initial recruitment calls. If 0409782679 asks for these details upfront, it's definitely spam or a scam.
