When I was looking for a job last year I applied on a number of job sites. A private education provider called 'Path Careers' obtained my name and phone number from them. A woman called 'Kerrin' cold called me and immediately began telling me how I could secure my dream career and they would work hard to find me employment with their agents etc. She also plainly said it would cost next to nothing since I would be using HECS. She completely swept over (ignored) the details of payment and emailed me a link directly to a HECS form for the course she was selling me. All my details were already completed on the form and she was very insistent on getting my tax file number, I assume so I would be locked into her unethical sale. Note that this was after less than 10 minutes of speaking with her, she wanted me to sign up for something as substantial as a HECS debt for a degree that I did not ask for and with extremely little information. After refusing to give her my Tax File Number I was sent multiple spam texts requesting it for over a week until I blocked the number. I felt this entire affair was extremely predatory and was designed to exploit vulnerable people and have them make poor or uninformed financial decisions so they (Path Careers) can benefit from receiving commission for referring students to the Entamio Education Group ([link].

Most of the comments above pretty much fit my description , 'Kerrin ' would not stop calling me, she called several times with a different number, I already told her I'm not interested yet she still messages me for my ID and TFN and would call me every now then (less frequently than before when I told her I was not interested) . No professional would be this annoying, definitely be aware.

Received a call from a woman from "Path Careers". I was stupid enough to sign up, but quickly realized it was a dumb mistake. She rang back and I told them I wasn't interested anymore, she said it was fine and no one's rung me since. Just get texts all the time from "Kerrin" asking for my TFN and photo identification. Don't answer if they call.

A lady called me, she did not advise who she was or company name. I had to ask, and was then advised "Path Careers". She could not tell me how she got my name and number. She made out like she could help find me a job, on the condition I enrolled in a Business Diploma. She was not forthcoming in disclosing details and was hard to obtain information from regarding VET Fees and actual costs involved. I asked if I could RPL some of the course as I already have certificates in business. She was completely unfamiliar with the term "RPL - Recognition of prior learning" which set off huge alarm bells for me!! Anybody in the training industry would definitely be aware of this term. When she couldn't find the answers to my questions, I suggested she email some comprehensive information she advised she was unable to do that and advised that someone would call me. Be careful, very careful if considering doing business with these people. It seemed very dodgy.

I also had several calls from this number - I answered and after being on the phone with a lady for no longer than 30 seconds I realized she was trying to enroll me on a course and make me take out a vet fee help loan to pay for it - she was in complete shock that I knew what she was trying to do and said oh oh and then hung up - don't even bother answering.
