User Experiences

Several reports point to a common pattern with this number. Multiple individuals have recounted scenarios where they answered only to encounter silence or minimal conversation. For instance, many answered the call with greetings such as "Hello," only to be met with silence or have the caller abruptly hang up. These interactions suggest that the caller is employing tactics designed to confirm if the number is active, potentially for malicious purposes.

The Nature of the Calls

A review from 07/11/2023 highlighted concerns that the caller could be trying to capture voiceprints, raising alarms about possible identity theft or fraud. Such confirmation tactics are typical of many scam operations that target unsuspecting victims to create a database of active phone numbers.

Moreover, some users reported that the caller attempts to sell products, including heat pumps and mobile plans with purported discounts. Notably, these callers seem famously evasive—one individual relayed how they were hung up on when they clarified their location, indicating urgency in the sales pitch without a willingness to engage further in conversation.

When I answered the call, there was no response. After saying hello three times, the caller hung up. When I called the number back, I only heard an awkward recorded message about some 'executive'. I recommend avoiding this number and blocking it.

I received five calls from this number in the last 24 hours. Fortunately I now have a Telstra Guardian phone which blocks calls from numbers not in my phone list. People who do wish to speak to me are asked to say their name, the phone rings and I can either accept or block the call. Well worth the investment!
