I received a spam call promoting an upgrade for my hot water system with a government rebate. When I declined, the caller hung up rudely without saying anything else, indicating that it is likely a scam.

I had a missed call from this number and called back and the female accented voice said my name. I confirmed it was my name and she then went into receiving a $2500 rebate for changing the hot water service. I said I was renting and she just hung up.

I called back and got a different make voice with an accent asking if he was speaking to (my name). I said yes, but I asked where he was from. He spoke so quickly, I didn't understand him. After I asked about 4 times to repeat the name and spell it, I think he said AUF Energy Rebates. I asked where he was from and he said Collins St, Melbourne. I asked if this was an Australian company and he said yes. I asked again, please speak slowly as I cannot understand you, what is the name of the company. He hung up.

I called again and got a different person with an accent. He knew my surname and before he asked any questions I said I had just spoken to 2 people from your company and they both hung up on me and that it was very upsetting. (I wasn't really upset, just annoyed these scammers think they can dupe people.) He apologised and said they must be new. He then started his spiel and I told him I was renting. He politely ended the call.

I want to keep calling them to annoy them. I've just blocked the number.

I got a call from an Indian call center trying to sell heat pump hot water systems under a government grant scheme. I was under the impression that new legislation would put an end to such unsolicited calls.

I answered the call, but there was no response from the other end. After saying hello again, the call disconnected. When I tried to call the number back, it didn’t ring, and I received no message indicating that the number was disconnected. I suspect this could be a spam call generated by automated systems.
