This caller claimed to be from Telstra, but I suspect it is a scam trying to gather personal information under false pretenses.
I received a call from (03) 9871 7455. The caller claimed they were from the Commonwealth Bank, saying there was a transaction of $400 taken from my account. However, I do not have an account with that bank, and I hung up immediately, as I suspected this might be a scam.
I received a recorded message stating that there was a purchase related to cryptocurrency on my Visa card. I do not participate in cryptocurrency, and the card associated is also incorrect, which raises suspicions that this is a scam.
Absolute scam claims to be from Visa.
The recorded message I received claimed that there were two suspicious transactions detected on my Visa card. I believe this is a scam. Do not call back and I recommend blocking this number for your safety.
When I answered this call, nobody spoke, and the call ended abruptly without any verbal communication.
Web marketing.
The voicemail I received claimed that they were from the Visa security department and mentioned that transactions had allegedly been deducted from my account.
I chose not to answer the call because I avoid unknown numbers. Additionally, I'm currently in Sydney, and the number displayed a Melbourne area code!
