Yes, a scammer. Someone claiming to be from the "Australian Information Bureau" based in South Melbourne conducting "research" on people in the household. There was no advisory about the company or their data policies which had me on guard.
The call sounded like it came from a foreign call centre and the audio was fairly grainy. The caller was reluctant to give the address but very quickly mentioned something in South Melbourne only to not want to repeat it a second time.
I just had a call from this number but they had hung up before I had a chance to answer, I assume it was a nuisance call, there seems to be so many of them these days.
