The phone number 03 9448 2658 / 0394482658 has garnered attention for being linked with a scam, specifically where callers pose as representatives from Telstra. This unscrupulous practice aims to extract sensitive information from unsuspecting individuals. User reports continually highlight this number's alarming behaviour, guiding potential victims on how to respond appropriately.

Why Is This Number Considered a Scam?

Several user reviews paint a troubling picture of 03 9448 2658 / 0394482658. On 8th June 2023, a user reported receiving a call where the scammer claimed to be from Telstra, requesting personal internet details. The caller attempted to gain credibility by referencing a Telstra office address. However, when questioned about the details, the con artist promptly hung up. This interaction suggests an advanced level of deceit, as the caller attempted to fabricate legitimacy through misinformation.

An earlier review dated 5th August 2022 notes similar concerns. The caller spoke with a thick Australian accent, raising doubts about their authenticity, especially since the number itself doesn’t correlate directly with real Australian operators. Such inconsistencies are classic tactics used in phone scams, aimed at unsettling the recipient into compliance.

They called me pretending to be Telstra Employees and asking about my Internet details. I told them I work for Telstra. He is giving the Telstra office address. I told him I am in the same building and none of the call centres are there. He hung up on me. Don't fall for these guys.
