Just a heads up, this one's impersonating Paypal and set up some shifty account in my name and email. Total scam alert!

It's ARL Collecting money I owe to PayPal - which I do, so not a scam for me.

I answered, and this Aussie bloke starts asking for my name but won’t share where he's calling from. I told him we're at an impasse, but credit to him, he respected my privacy. Cheers mate, I hung up after that!

These blokes keep ringing me, claiming I owe PayPal cash. But when I checked, I've got a big ol' zero! Turns out some dodgy characters are trying to open a business account in my name. Best to give PayPal a bell directly to sort this mess out before it gets ugly!

Picked up the call, and it was some mob claiming to be ARL on behalf of PayPal. I got so worked up I threatened them! Not sure if it did anything, but it made my day after that. Cheers “diversity”!

Dipshit called and picked up after a brief hold asking “is this __ is this __ is this __ to which I said who’s asking? And she gave some fake Indian name and then asked for my surname and I’m like who the f*k is this? And she’s like we don’t tell people from 3rd parties and asked my last name again and I said I’m not going to respond until you tell me who you are??? Rude cow.

I have received several calls and text messages from a company named ARL, claiming that I owe a debt to PayPal. After calling this number back, I was directed to a messaging service called ARL that seemed to be collecting information; I suspect this was a scam attempt.

I have been receiving calls from this number daily for the past few weeks. I answered once, only to be met with music, and I have chosen not to answer subsequent calls due to its suspicious nature.

I have received a total of 14 missed calls from this number since the start of this year, and it's only the end of January. Today, they finally left a voice message, but they failed to pronounce my name correctly. In the message, they instructed me to call back using a reference number. I decided not to return their call and have now blocked this number to avoid future contact.

Definitely a spam.

As others have said, when you answer it is hold music which I don't think a legit organisation would do. They claimed to be a debt collecting agency with my file referred from PayPal. I said that I had already followed up with PayPal (as I have been getting text messages for a while). I haven't had any response from PayPal, which tells me there is no issue, and there is no debit on my account. The operator said I should call PayPal and she would give me the number - I said I would prefer to look it up. She became frustrated saying if I didn't call PayPal she would just have to call me back. That's fine. I know my data has been involved in the many data breaches in Australia, so I guess these scammers have it.

When I answered the call, there was complete silence on the other end, and no one spoke.

This number has called me several times without leaving any voicemail. The lack of message raises suspicions about the intention of these calls.

Suspicious call, I foolishly answered, went straight to 'on hold' Services Australia hold music. Most likely debt collection.
