Male scammer with an English accent..

Claimed to be from the ING. Had my suburb and first 8 digits (which are common to all ING accounts). Advised me there had been transactions from the Darwin Hilton and a scheduled direct debit had been set up.

He then took me to the scamwatch website and walked me through reporting the "scam". Gave me a "crime reference number.

Asked me to confirm the scamwatch number while being recorded.

He then asked me to transfer all the money from my savings acount to my everyday account so he could close the account and then open a new account. That's when I twigged..

It was a very convincing scam...

Claimed to be from ING bank. Talking about fraudulent transactions. New my name, email, number and last four digits of my previously canceled visa card. When questioned about more details they wouldn't provide due to "security reasons". Obvious scammers.

Well spoken male and assured me he was from NAB and I had an unusual purchase on my card.

Knew old card numbers. Asked for balances but no account numbers. I said that I was worried this is a scam and he reassured me not.

He went away to talk to the accounts section so checked the phone number. I feel sick.

Do I need to do anything to protect my accounts?

Spam. Claiming to be from the NAB and that they had blocked/ suspended our accounts. Tried to direct me to a different phone number with a reference call. Wouldn't give me information as to why it was blocked/suspended.
