They have called me twice today with the same message that I will be arrested. I've called to ask why they keep bothering me like that and they've said they are Australia Taxation Office. I said ATO would not contact me with that aggressive message.
I've reported the number to the ATO.
They must be doing the rounds today! I also got a similar one from Canberra with an Australian accent and then this Melbourne number this afternoon.
Scam call. Recorded voice which starts upon answering (or upon your message bank answering and therefore you miss part of the message). Something to do with calling back or else a warrant for your arrest will be issued.
It’s a scam, telling me I’m going to get arrested and to call them. Scary thing is if you Google their phone number it goes to a fake website that looks like a legitimate law firm. Don’t call back!!
