We recieved a call on the mobile first it was a 02 61403436 then three on our answering machine with the 03 88205194. So ty all for posting, we knew it was some sort of scam but they were very convincing, a little scary I have to say.
They left a recorded message on our answering machine, I never answer my home phone anyway unless It is my family members who I know who are talking through the phone through the answering machine otherwise I just use my mobile phone.
Our phone number is silent and private.
They have called about 3 times now first with an (02) number and now with this 03 8820 5194.
I will be contacting the phone companies and the police about these numbers calling.

We recieved a message from this number on our answering machine when we got home tonight! Not only is our number new, it is silent! Needless to say after the initial shock I googled as it seemed strange and saw these comments. So thank you! I have since found an alert from the CDPP on their website since May! How is this same number continuing to do this?!!! Here's the link [link].
Hi had a message on my private number at home - from this number with the same threat! I Absolutely freaked! As I also am a Australian Government Employee - but found it funny, that a message with no details on who try were trying to contact and also the APS is governed by strict privacy acts and should never disclosure that kind of detail in a message. Thank you, I immediately googled the number and found these posts. Thanks you very much and I am work today, confirmed its a spam!
Received recorded message claiming to be from ATO and CDPP threatening arrest for Tax avoidance and fraud and requested me to return call on this number. Fraud call.
I called Optus to block this number. THEY WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING!!! This a scam and could scare people who don't realise it. I would like to know how they have access to my silent number which is registered as a don't call number. Is Optus selling my information?????
Indian scammers trying to get tax money. I've called them back so many times and abused them today. It has been fun. Give them a call and harass them too.
