    A company called 'my lifestyle'.

    They are allegedly in your area giving away free vouchers to home owners and mortgage repayers. I told the person my number is on the do not call register he was respectful but didn't tell me where he got my number. Sounds like a scrip reading BS.

    I got a call from this number while driving. I tried to answer via my hands-free set on my sunvisor, but I pressed the wrong button and, upon fumbling around with the buttons, which I couldn't look at, I ended up hanging up. I tried to ring them back from the same device but got "this number is no longer in service.".

    Some calls from these numbers are credible, as some medical professionals or job agencies use these, and those numbers are only able to call out, not receive calls. But most are scams. It would be interesting to get a call back from these people to see who they are.

    I am sick of this number calling me every day - I was on a skype call and got cut off - the phone rang and I assumed it was my caller ringing back to tell me why we were cut off - but it was 0386160796 captured on my phone and of course they hung up as soon as I answered. They are definitely scammers because the next thing I know I get some indian call centre trying to tell me tell me I can get arebate of $4000 from the government for solar.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
