After I politely declined the offer from the caller, he insulted me by calling me an "effing idiot" and mentioned trying to make my day with a supposed offer of $789.
I just received a call that was undeniably a scam. I have the same concerns as others have reported.
Claimed to be Energy Australia (Indian male), with a deal for loyal customers. Said he would transfer $299 into my account, and asked for my bank details, I said Energy Australia had my bank details. I asked for the caller to verify they were calling from Energy Australia the caller started screaming that I was an idiot and hung up. Blocked.
An individual claiming to represent Energy Australia called, identifying himself as an Indian male. He mentioned a special deal for loyal customers and bizarrely offered to transfer $299 into my bank account, asking for my banking details. I informed him that Energy Australia already had my information, but when I asked him to verify that he was genuinely calling from their company, he became aggressive, screaming that I was an idiot before hanging up. I have since blocked this number.
The caller claimed he needed my credit card details to pay me $300 for a timely electric bill. This raised serious red flags, so I blocked the number immediately.
I have been receiving repeated calls from both male and female voices. My husband answered one call from a male who requested $200 for an unclear reason due to a poor connection. Additionally, a female caller asked for $300, again without providing a clear reason. This number appears to be linked to Rainer De Ramos from Caroline Springs VIC, but it may also be compromised. I recommend blocking this number.
When I answered a call from a man named John claiming to work in my area regarding an energy rebate, the call was filled with terrible background noise. It was difficult to hear him, and he kept saying "hello" over and over. I struggled to get a word in and ultimately told him I wasn't interested before hanging up. He immediately called me back, but I let it go to voicemail. I have now blocked this number to avoid future disturbances.
When I answered the phone, the caller greeted me with "hello mate," but the line was poor, possibly indicating it was over a VPN. They hung up and then called me back regarding something about solar panels. I informed them that I couldn't hear them properly and that this was an unwanted call. I have noted their number and told them not to call me again.
