I received a call from someone claiming to be a representative from Optus, but when I asked for specific details about my service provider, they were unable to provide an answer. I did not reveal that my actual provider is Boost, which uses the Telstra network and not Optus. At the end of the call, I told them to leave me alone.

A woman called claiming to be from Telstra and stated that my internet had been compromised. I informed her that I am not a Telstra customer, but she repeatedly insisted, saying, "Ma'am, your internet has been compromised." I reminded her again that I wasn't with Telstra, and she suggested it could be Optus or other providers. I asked her to tell me which internet service I was using, but she continued to repeat that I was compromised. Eventually, I ended the call as there was a lot of background noise.

This number called me yesterday afternoon (April 2, 2025, at 3:25 PM AEST) but did not leave a voicemail after I missed the call. Interestingly, I received two other calls from numbers that are quite similar: (03) 7076 1290 at 1:45 PM and (03) 7076 1304 at 4:40 PM. I suspect all these calls are connected and possibly related to spoofing or scams.
