Yep got a call today from them. They hung up when I told them I hadnt had an accident.
Yes, it is a scam. I was called today as well. It's been around before, and unfortunately people will fall for it thinking that maybe their spouse was involved (a lot of lonely elderly people tend to fall for it, being so trusting and sometimes lonely) and start to hand over personal details to process the claim. Surely, being an actual phone number you could find them in the phone book and pay them a nice visit.
Had the same call today too. Its definitely a spam call!
