I received a call from someone named "Steve" who claimed to be from "Telstra," stating that they detected an issue with my internet service. However, we do not have any services with Telstra, which makes this call suspicious.

An individual with an Indian accent called claiming to be from Telstra, stating they had detected issues with my internet and were calling to help. I hung up on him, as it's well-known that Telstra rarely makes unsolicited calls for assistance, leading me to suspect this was a scam.

Fraudulent/phishing scam call. Spoofed Caller ID. Purporting to be Telstra and/or National Broadband Network. Call actually originating from Indian scam call centre set up.

Do not disclose or 'confirm' any personal or financial information. Do not give details of your IP address or download any software or allow remote access to your devices.

Had a call from this number today. Indian accent claiming to by from National Broadband Network wanting to know about my connection speeds and for me to run a speed test. Said I was at work and could not run a speed test for my National Broadband Network connection but said it was fine and running at the speed of the plan I am on. Wanted to make a time on the weekend for a call back as they 'wanted to fix the National Broadband Network issues'.. I said I didn't have nay issues and felt this was not actually National Broadband Network but somebody trying to sell me an upgrade. I believe it was a scam call and expect they will try to call me back!

Don't answer, best not to pick up at all.

In Indian accent,

'Hi, I'm from Telstra. Your IP address is made public... '

Seems to be a spam call as return call either gets an automated prompt or no pickup.

I received a call from someone with a heavy Indian accent claiming there was a problem with my internet. However, when they couldn't tell me which internet provider I used, I simply told them to leave me alone and blocked the number.
