After I answered the call, there was a long pause before the caller responded. They addressed me by my last name, but mispronounced it, and did not use my first name, which is a very common name for women in Australia. I hung up immediately without waiting for more information.

This number called my router, presumably attempting to download malware onto my device, which indicates a serious security threat.

Caller claimed to be from our National Broadband Network service provider and that "they had detected some abnormal activity with our IP address connected to that service and would like to access our internet to assist" - when I asked when did we have the National Broadband Network connected there was a long pause from the caller then he hung up. Definitely a scam number - beware.

The caller identified themselves as being from NBN, stating that my WiFi speed had been slow for the past few days and was expected to decline further. They wanted to send a technician to check my equipment but hung up when I requested an email from their official business account for verification. This seems suspicious.

I got a call from this number, but no one answered when I picked up. I am wondering if there is any action being taken against these scammers or if we are just going to continue reporting them without any resolution?

Had the call from them today saying they are from Telstra. Told them I am not with Telstra and he basically told me that I was because Telstra own all internet providers. He mentioned that he was calling because they noticed that IP addresses outside of our home were accessing our internet, making it work slower. So immediately I knew he was full of shit and I played along with it until I couldn't stand his voice. I let him go as far as asking me what services we had at home that connect to the internet, to which I replied, mobile phones predominantly. He then asked me to get that device and go to the play store app.... And then I hung up haha! Do not answer this call unless you want to have a laugh.

Total scam. Claiming to be from National Broadband Network then tells me my internet is being hacked. Played dumb with him and then he told me to go to a computer so I said I was on the computer the next second and he says do you think I’m an idiot. Started abusing me. Told him I was forwarding his call to the police.

I had a call from someone claiming to be from NBN, who stated that my Wi-Fi had been hacked and insisted that I needed to install a specific app on my phone to resolve the issue. I hung up on him as he knew my full name and had a heavy Indian accent, which raised my suspicions.

Someone, from what sounded like an Indian call centre, claiming to be from the commonwealth bank fraud detection department. No doubt trying to scam people out of their card details.

I answered the call with a "Hello," and the caller listened for about five seconds before hanging up. This behavior is unusual and concerning.
