The Scam Explained
This type of scam is often linked to "tech support" fraud, where impostors impersonate legitimate companies to instill fear into the consumer. They may claim the user's computer has been infected with malware or viruses, pressuring them to divulge personal information or agree to unsought technical services. In various user reports, the callers have mentioned fictitious addresses, further indicating a lack of authenticity.

What Our Users Reviewed
I've got a lot of phone call these days, some saying they are Telstra technicians with heavy Indian accent and told me my PC was infected with virus. I knew straightaway that they were scammers because : 1) I installed anti-virus Kaspersky and scanned the PC every week, without seeing any virus and 2) Having difficult to understand accent, Telstra will not employ them.
It is very annoying. They ring also at 8:00 pm many, many times, probably from a number of employee (girl and boys) of the same gang so they do not know which number they can deceive.
At the moment, I lift the receiver but say nothing when I see that it is not from my list. Then they hang up. Or I say hello and after hearing that they are Telstra technician, I keep quiet and they hang up.

Why do the authorities not shut down this number?
Why not close all the numbers related to these people - they waste so much of every ones time.
I received a call from Jack and Anthony claiming to be from Telstra from the above number.
They claimed to be at 215 Miller Street, North Sydney.
More than likely a scam.
Thick Indian/Pakistani accent female caller pretends to be "from Telstra about my internet service difficulties" - has to be fake as I am not with Telstra.
Hung up and she called back! Unbelievable!
Scammers. Indian accent, not clear about what they are selling. Try to call the number back, & it is out of service.
