    This number has rung our home phone number about 3 or 4 times at least, we have answered a couple of times and all we get is silence on the other end and then they hang up, possibly a charity or posing as a charity. We are on the "do not call" list, but apparently charities are exempt. Will be making further inquiries if it keeps on going.

    Called it back and it plays a message along the lines of "fundraising in nsw" and I hung up. Fundraising via mass calls etc is perfectly legal (unfortunatly) even if you're number is on the Do not call register.

    Had a call from this number twice this week, when I answered the phone no one was there - about 20 seconds of silence followed by a busy tone.

    Appeared to be auto dialled as line was dead when Fax answered.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
