- Fake Legitimacy: A user described the caller as having a pronounced Indian accent and working from a noisy location. This tactic is often used in scams to create a false sense of urgency and legitimacy.
- Changing Stories: When challenged about his affiliation with Telstra, the caller quickly shifted his narrative, stating he was from a contracted company—a common strategy among scammers to maintain credibility.
- Caller Disconnection: After refusing to follow the caller’s request to access a website, the caller became defensive and ultimately hung up, typical behaviour for a scammer when their ruse is challenged.

What Our Users Reviewed
**Update to my previous post** I have lodged a scam report with ACCC Scamwatch.
Received a call from this number. Gent with a pronounced Indian accent, calling from a very noisy location with lots of background conversations, advised he was calling from Telstra and that there has been a breach on my internet connection. I instantly recognised this as a scam call, and led him on to see how the call would unfold. I feigned relief that he had called to help this little old lady with her technology issue. He was very pleasant until I refused to access a fresh browser and type in an address. He asked why not, I said because he did not work for Telstra. He assured me he did and that the call was legit. I said I KNOW you don't work for Telstra. He asked how I could possibly know. I said because I don't have a Telstra service. He then changed his cover story to say he works for a company that is contracted by Telstra. I called BS and he promptly hung up on me. It was pretty funny, but also sad that vulnerable people get caught out in these scams every day. BE CAREFUL PEOPLE.
