    I received a call from this number on my silent number/do not call registered landline. As I always do when I get calls from numbers which I do not recognise, I answered the phone with, "Not interested, p*** off!". I'm sick to death of these trolls and spammers. Legislation required to put a stop to these intrusive, unsolicited nuisance calls once and for all.

    Said his name was Ed calling on behalf of SES so fast I couldn't make it out (yes he was Aussie) and wanted to talk to the owner of our business who he asked for by name, I explained that he was unable to come to the phone and could I take a message, he was reluctant to say again who he was but when he did it was as I stated above I explained we were not in a position to donate and he just said he would call back later. I don't want him to what don't they understand about NO it puts you off donating to anyone.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
