    Keep getting missed calls from this number so I called back the other day, they said they are 'elite' and they deal with reduction of mortgages. I said I don't have a mortgage so can you take me off your list.I'm very careful about who I give my number to so I asked her where my number was from and she said 'various sources'... I said 'yes, which sources I would like to know', she said "as I said, various sources including the Australian Census" WHAT lol.

    She said she will remove my number but I still keep getting calls off them every day :-(.

    Scam!! They claim to be from a company called "Yellow Brick Road". Avoid them, they want to get your details and bank info. They will tell you they got your number from their marketing department. If confronted they panic!

    I received the same.3 times over 2 days, claiming they are from Yellow Brick Road, I asked where they got my name (yes my name) and mobile phone number from and they said their marketing department, I asked to speak with a supervisor and she tried to end the call. I said I was going to ring Yellow Brick Road and report to ACMA and she freaked.

    Be cautious if you receive a call from this number claiming to be Yellow Brick Road financial services. After checking with YBR they informed me no attempt to contact me? The call appeared to be international as there was significant delay, Beware and give no details .

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
