    Answered the call and no one there. Dialled the number back and got weird long beep sounds that were definitely not an engaged signal. Seems like robo dial scam call centre.

    Solar Panel scam, wanted to know my quarterly power bill.

    When I said I've had numerous calls about this and know it's a scam he said "ok we will remove you from our company database and you will never get a call ever again.".

    I said "that would be nice" and hung up.

    Scam call saying they were from solar panel company. When I said I wasn’t interested they said they weren’t from a call centre and I hung up.

    The caller phoned I answered they hung up. I called back a few minutes later and I could not be connected - an obvious scam caller. So I have added the phone number to my contacts under Scammer Do Not Answer!

    Yet another overseas scam artist. This one was claiming to be a solar company. Said he had all my electricity details. I said if that where true, you'd know I already had them. He then swore at me and hung up.

    Solar panel seller scam. When I told them I didn't want anything he went "why?". Swore at them and hung up. Called me in the evening on the weekend. Not OK.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
