You missed a call from 0281034661, who said "Identified incorrect ___ of tax filings and we regret to inform you that your account has been marked delinquent on account of tax avoidance now ___." This message was provided by Telstra at no charge to you.
Def a Scam!
Same scam/scammer as reported by previous members of the public. Best to report it to the Australian Government website Scamwatch.
They want your tax file number so that they can lodge a return in your name and get a refund. When audited it will be picked up, however, by that time the money will have evaporated and the ATO will contact you with a please explain. Don't ever give they your TFN.
Same story. Beware.
Dodgy recorded computer generated British accent voicemail left, haven't paid tax, warrant for your arrest blah blah blah. You would hope in this current day that dodgy scammers would realise that the general public knows that these things are a scam!
I've had 3 calls everyday for the past week!! Scary if you get sucked in to believing this!! Scammmmmmmmmm!!!!
Another "tax" scam, left an automated voice message.
This was a message on my home home stating needed to call this number as a was going to be arrested for tax avoidance. No name was mentioned on who in the household it was meant for.
English too good for an australian, scammers.
Same as previously mentioned. Recorded message from the Tax Office, well spoken English accent so I knew straight away it was a scam :).
Like above but I had a missed called so returned the call and got a person who said they were from the tax dept. When I said I had a missed call he wanted my Tax file number so he could see what the problem was. Told Him a couple of times that I was not going to give out personal information and eventually he hung up.. Bewhere..
SCAM CALL They make out they are from the ATO and you owe them money.
Same deal recorded message pretending to be ATO. Warrant issued. Mail been returned to them. I rekon in a few days some Indian will ring following it up and offer a deal to pay them via some method to get out of it.
Why are they nuisance callers allowed to continue. I had 18 last week alone. :(.
Got a message left in disjointed automated voice saying there was a tax debt, warrant for arrest, mail sent to registered address was being returned call back on a different number than had called us.0281034661 to call back but it rang out.

The call I received was an auto recorded message saying that it was a call from the Tax Office calling regarding my avoided taxes, threatening jail time etc.
I am so sick of these types of scams! How do we stop them and what exactly are they trying to achieve.
Its a scammmmmmmmmmmm.
Received calls to my home phone and mobile within a short of each other. Called the number and it rang out.
Some scam - automated message from the 'Tax Department'.
Came home to an automated message about avoiding tax fees etc..... Its a scam. Called ID showed number was 02 8103 4661. Already on the Do Not Call Registry, how much more do we have to do to avoid these sorts of calls? Is there somewhere we can lay a complaint about this?
Like those above, just received a call from this number on the same subject of tax avoidance, arrest warrants etc. The automated call sounds very professional and some more gullible people or the elderly could be fooled by this. I strongly, repeat strongly suggest that whoever is pushing this stuff to residential addresses be investigated and charged with causing a public menace, attempted fraud or for just being a drop kick.
Automated call from Tax Office saying I had avoided paying tax and that there was a warrant out. Idiots.
Just got a call from this number, same deal as above. An automated speech on how I had apparently avoided paying tax and a warrant for my arrest had been issued.... These turkeys must think we are so gullible..
I also had a call saying that my account had been blocked due to tax avoidance and that there was a warrant for my arrest! Tried calling the number and no answer. Dodgy!
Dodgy call saying my account has been closed because of tax avoidance and a warrant for my arrest has been issued and to call back on this number.
