We also got a message from Indian male called himself Jason OConnor with his American type accent. It's quite scary what an elderly person would do with this person. Anyway definitely a scam & hopefully we aren't going to jail.
We received two telephone verbatim messages from a male caller of Indian accent on 19 June and 24 June 2016, purportedly to be from the ATO and advising us to call back on 02 8317 3564.
On Tuesday.7 June 2016, we received the above same message with a different call back number; 02 8301 2017.
All three messages accused us of tax evasion and a veiled threat of imminent police arrest, unless we call back.
I pity senior citizens being duped!!
I wish the ATO and/or telephone service provider would indentify the registered owners of these scam telephone numbers and cause action for their arrest.
Can't wait for the local police department to come and arrest me as claimed by this caller.
